We are roughly half a mile from the beautiful Tresaith beach, around a 10 minute stroll.
Yes, the famous Tresaith waterfall is located right on the beach, which is an easy walk from the cottage. On entering the beach, turn right (North bound), at low tide you can walk along the sand but otherwise you need to go over the rocks.
Absolutely. The cottage is perfectly positioned for the stunning 1.5-mile walk along the Ceredigion Coast Path to Aberporth. Head to Tresaith beach and join the coastal path South bound. There is a steep climb to start with, but once at the top it levels out, giving you cliff top sea views the whole way and passing some of the old railway carriages now converted into homes.
Yes, the whole area is very welcoming to four-legged friends! The Ship Inn is just down the road and is dog-friendly, offering a wide menu served all day with a great view of the bay. Right next door is Skippers, which offers that same incredible sea view but with a rustic pizza menu and a friendly local vibe where dogs are always welcome.
Absolutely! Cardigan Bay hosts Britain’s largest resident population of bottlenose dolphins and they are frequently spotted from the shore in Tresaith. the Ship Inn keeps a tracker where you can chalk up your dolphin, porpoise and seal spottings.
Yes, the Wales Coast Path connects Tresaith directly to both. To start the walk, head toward the beach and look for the Northbound entry point just before Gwalia Falls. You can reach the beautiful sands of Penbryn in about 45 minutes and the popular seaside village of Llangrannog in under 2 hours. While the path is quite ‘up and down,’ the stunning Ceredigion coastal scenery and sea views make it well worth the effort!
Tresaith only has a seasonal shop for beach essentials. There is a well stocked shop in the garage at Tanygroes, which is 1 mile away. There is no cafe in Tresaith but Skippers and The Ship Inn are family friendly and open every day year round. For a wider selection, the village of Aberporth is just 1.5 miles away with a convenience store, pharmacy, and several cafes. We recommend Shibwns for a Welsh breakfast, brunch or afternoon cake and coffee.
